Our Home

We (Claire Albrecht and Justin Hostetter) have lived in Kasama since February of 2014. We are both originally from the US, and started our experience in Zambia in the Peace Corps in 2008. We fell in love with the country, and each other, and decided after several years abroad to return to Zambia and make a life for ourselves. We live on an organic farm, and we also run a program which helps to empower young Zambian women, called Bakashana.

We enjoy living among the humble people of the Bemba culture, who have taught and given us more than we can ever hope to return. We host WOOFERs in order to learn from others and create an environment for collaboration. We also provide our visitors with a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the wonderful, bright, colorful culture of the Bemba people (our neighbors and friends) who have graciously welcomed us into their community.
